What is Epilepsy?

Epilepsy is a disease characterized by an enduring predisposition to generate epileptic seizures and by the neurobiological, cognitive, psychological, and social consequences of this condition.

The Goals of the Erika Knode Epilepsy Awareness Memorial Foundation are to:

  • Raise Awareness and Understanding of those with Epilepsy in the Workplace. 

  • Recognize Companies and Organizations who have programs in place and actively help employees with Epilepsy assimilate into the workplace. 

  • Provide resources for companies who desire to have an Epilepsy friendly work environment.

 

Proceeds from the Foundation are used to fund:

  • Epilepsy research leading to a cure.

  • Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) awareness and cure.

  • Materials and training for companies and organizations to help their employees with Epilepsy assimilate into the workplace. 

  • Scholarships for those with Epilepsy.
